Nodius® Candy: Improvement in Quality Characteristics of Industrial Tomato

Our goal is to demonstrate that application programs with AGROLOGY’s Functional Crop Nutrition® products are an obvious investment for producers, as the financial benefits exceed the cost of supplemental applications!

One such Success Story was carried out on Industrial Tomato, var. Pietra Rossa F1 (SS 2024_154_GR) in collaboration with the agricultural store “Kaoukis Konstantinos”, in 2024. Throughout the process, the farmer benefited from the continuous guidance and support offered by AGROLOGY’s Technical Department and the collaborating agricultural store.

The field was divided into three plots, one was used as the Control, while AGROLOGY’s Program was applied to the other two plots in different dosage rates (Agrology 1 & Agrology 2). In all plots, the farmer used the same plant protection and plant nutrition-fertilization program, apart from the additional applications with AGROLOGY’s Functional Crop Nutrition® products.

Success Story Results

During the field trials, sampling was conducted in all treatments: the Control and Agrology treatments 1 & 2. As a result, the Agrology Programs demonstrated impressive improvements in Fruit Growth Quality Parameters of Industrial Tomato cultivation, benefiting the farmer. 

Specifically, the following were achieved: 

  1. Fruit Weight Increase

Agrology 2 Treatment (4 L/ha): + 6.11 g or 7.8%
Agrology 1 Treatment (2.5 L/ha): + 5.09 g or 6.5%

  • Agrology 2: 84 g
  • Agrology 1: 83 g
  • Control: 77.9 g
Picture 2. Fruit Weight (g). With the application of Nodius® Candy, an increase in Fruit Weight of 7.8% (+6.11 g) (Agrology 2) and 6.5% (+5.09 g) (Agrology 1) was achieved compared to the control.

2. Fruit Size Increase

Picture 3. Fruit Size – Horizontal diameter. With the application of Nodius® Candy, an increase in Fruit Horizontal Diameter of 3.9% (+1.84 mm) (Agrology 2) and 2% (+0.96 mm) (Agrology 1), was achieved compared to the control.
Picture 4. Fruit Size – Vertical diameter. With the application of Nodius® Candy, an increase in Fruit Vertical Diameter of 2.3% (+1.64 mm) (Agrology 2) and 1.8% (+1.27 mm) (Agrology 1), was achieved compared to the control.

3. Fruit Sugar Content (Brix) Increase

  • Agrology 2: 5.2 Brix
  • Agrology 1: 5.1 Brix
  • Control: 4.9 Brix
