Agrology Success Stories – Increased Olive Oil Yield and Improved Olive Oil Quality Characteristics

Through Agrology Success Stories in Greece and Abroad, it is proven that the superior quality and integrated innovative technologies of Agrology’s Functional Crop Nutrition® products, make a difference in crops from the very first applications!

Our goal is to demonstrate that Agrology’s Functional Crop Nutrition® Programs are a profitable investment for farmers, as the financial benefits exceed the extra cost of supplemental applications!

One such Success Story was carried out in Olives for Oil production (SS_2025_249_GR) in 2025, in collaboration with the Commercial Store of Agricultural Supplies and Nutrimaster® “Agrotechniki Chanion”, in the region of Chania, Crete. Throughout the process, the farmer benefited from the continuous guidance and support offered by Agrology’s Technical Department and the collaborating agricultural store.

The crop area was divided into two equal plots, one was used as Control, while Agrology’s Program was applied to the other plot. In both plots, the farmer used the same plant protection and plant nutrition-fertilization program, apart from additional applications with Agrology’s Functional Crop Nutrition® products.

2. Increase in Total Olive Oil Production by 15.8% (+150 kg/ha)

  • Agrology: 1.1 t/ha
  • Control: 0.95 t/ha

3. Improvement of Olive Oil Quality Characteristics

  • Acidity: Reduced by 2%. The lower the acidity, the higher the quality of the olive oil.
  • Peroxide Value: Reduced by 13.8%. The peroxide value indicates the level of oxidation in olive oil. A lower peroxide value translates into greater stability and longer shelf life.
  • Total Sterols: Increased by 12%. Sterols are naturally occurring components of olive oil and serve as key indicators of its authenticity and quality. The Agrology Program recorded a sterol content of 1.417 mg/kg, a very high value that provides strong evidence of olive oil authenticity.
