{"id":14372,"date":"2022-09-20T12:38:51","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T09:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agrology.eu.116-202-233-51.rulerhost.com\/en\/?p=14372"},"modified":"2026-02-27T12:32:58","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T10:32:58","slug":"cotton-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.agrology.eu\/en\/agrology-success-stories\/cotton-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Cotton Yield Increase and Quality Improvement &#8211; Cotton Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cotton Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>Agrology, took the initiative to support the cotton farmers of Karditsa, who were affected by the Mediterranean cyclone Ianos in September 2020, by providing <strong>Functional Crop Nutrition\u00ae<\/strong> products of commercial value of 80.000\u20ac in order to cover the needs for 1000 hectares of cotton cultivation (Cotton Project).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main purpose of this initiative was to support the production and dynamics of cotton cultivation in the region of Karditsa, by offering know-how and specialized products. With two innovative <strong>Functional Crop Nutrition\u00ae<\/strong> products, Agrology designed a Program of Applications, aiming to Cotton Yield Increase and financially support of the farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The management of the products was taken over by the local organization, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/toevtavropou\">TOEV Tavropos-Karditsa<\/a>, one of the most important Organizations of the country, in cooperation with the agronomists of Agrology, ensuring that all interested cotton farmers will benefit equally and to the maximum extent possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading sm-title font-light mb-4\"><strong>Damages from Ianos<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Thousands of hectares of cultivated fields were buried under tons of water, mud and debris. In the prefecture of Karditsa, 80% of cultivations were flooded, which equals to approximately 30000 ha, mainly cotton and corn.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive damages to rural infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"492\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agrology.eu\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2022\/10\/ianos-cotton.png\" alt=\"Picture 1.
